WHO WE ARE
Leeds Tenants Federation
the independent federation of Leeds tenants and residents

A cross-tenure federation of tenants & residents

A cross-tenure federation Leeds Tenants Federation represents council tenants, housing association tenants and residents. It is a cross-tenure movement, uniting people on housing and neighbourhood issues.

This city-wide residents organisation – which represents over 65,000 households - includes tenants from ten different social landlords as well as homeowners and private tenants.

Individuals and affiliated residents groups can benefit from our services. We support local people to take a leading role in neighbourhood decision-making and campaign to represent their views at the highest level.

The Leeds Tenants Federation was formed in 2004 and has quickly become recognised as one of the most progressive and dynamic residents organisations. It is represented strongly at city-wide, regional and national level.

Chair of Leeds Tenants Federation, Michael Hall said: “Housing association tenants, council tenants and residents are now working side-by-side in Leeds Tenants Federation, bringing real community involvement to the city. We want to build one organisation to represent all the tenants and residents of Leeds. Now our vision is fast becoming reality. The more people who get involved – the stronger our voice and the more we can make sure that tenants and residents are in the driving seat.”
