Tenants in Leeds have the right to be involved in decisions about their homes and communities.

Leeds Tenants Federation has agreed these rights with Leeds City Council in a city-wide compact, called the Tenant Involvement Framework.

Local tenants and residents groups can have formal decision-making rights over the things that matter to them by agreeing a Local Compact.

Area Compacts enable tenants to be involved in the Arms Length Management Organisations.

Tenants are directors of the Arms Length Management Organisations in Leeds and form the largest group on the boards. They are in charge of managing council homes.

Tenants also have the right to manage their estates. In Leeds we have one of the most successful tenant management organisations: Belle Isle TMO.
