Youth Involvement Policy
Aims
- To develop the interaction between young people and adults
- To broaden young people’s horizons and encourage their self-development
- To improve adult perceptions of young people and young people’s perceptions of adults
- To engage with parents and guardians and to encourage their active involvement in the tenants movement
- To enhance community cohesion
- To bring in additional resources for youth activities
Objectives
- To develop Yorkshire Dreamscheme Partnership by providing practical support and funding
- To carry out satisfaction surveys with Dreamscheme participants to measure success
- To organise events at which young people can give presentations on their achievements
- To increase awareness within LTF of young people’s housing issues
Action Plan 2008/09
- Design and purchase promotional material for Dreamscheme Partnership (a display banner and publishing an attractive leaflet)
- Develop and directly fund 2 Dreamscheme projects in 2008/09
- Part-fund a team building event with young tenants in partnership with agencies (Archway to be approached)
- Co-sponsor seminar on the support needs of young people with Re’new
- Hold a focus group with young tenants and young homeless
