Leeds Tenants Federation is a Hate Crime Reporting Centre
In Summer 2004, Leeds Tenants Federation became a Hate Incident Reporting Centre.
Through this we intend to send a clear signal that the Federation and its member associations will not tolerate racist, homophobic or other forms of personal harassment and persecution in our communities.
The definition of a racist or a homophobic incident is "Any incident which is perceived to be racist or homophobic by the victim or any other person."
Residents and their groups can report hate crimes to the Federation if they prefer not to report them to the police. They can also report hate crimes to their local housing offices.
Staff at the Federation have received training in recording hate crimes using the standard multi-agency reporting forms.
Anyone suffering from racist or homophobic harassment in West Yorkshire can also call a free phone number:
0800 138 1625 for racist incidents
0800 138 1698 for homophobic incidents
