Face the People

Two hundred people attended the Face the People event in October 2007, organised by Leeds Tenants Federation in conjunction with Safer Leeds, the crime and disorder reduction partnership.

This was an opportunity for Leeds residents to get their questions on crime and anti-social behaviour answered. They were able to quiz top police and council chiefs and put their views on the priorities for dealing with crime and nuisance.

A panel including Cllr Les Carter, Chief Superintendent Mark Milsom and other key partners of the Crime & Disorder Partnership answered questions from the audience while police officers and members of the anti-social behaviour team were on hand to deal with individual queries.

This was the first Face the People event in Leeds - one of the commitments in the Respect Action Plan - and an opportunity for community involvement in the Crime and Disorder strategy. The event ended with interactive voting on the priorities for the future direction of the community safety partnership.
