Tenant-led STATUS survey
Leeds Tenants Federation was commissioned by Leeds City Council to project manage its 2008 STATUS survey on tenant satisfaction.
This is the first time a Tenants Organisation has undertaken the statutory STATUS survey on behalf of its landlord. It is a landmark in tenant-led regulation.
The Federation contracted the market research company MRUK to carry out the survey of 3000 tenants. The survey was sent out in early September and 1270 responses were received. The survey results helped Leeds Tenants Federation campaign for improvements in housing services. In particular they revealed worrying disparities between satisfaction rates for White and BME tenants. The STATUS results also showed that the handling of Ant--Social Behaviour complaints by Leeds City Council's ALMOs needed to be improved.
