What is the Leeds Tenants Federation?

The mission of Leeds Tenants Federation is to unite the tenants and residents of Leeds in one voice. We want to ensure that tenants and residents have a real say in decisions about their homes and communities.

We campaign for the rights of tenants and residents at a city wide, regional and national level, fighting for decent homes and neighbourhoods. Leeds Tenants Federation represents council tenants, housing association tenants, homeowners and private tenants. It is a cross-tenure movement, uniting people on housing and neighbourhood issues.

This city-wide organisation – which represents over 66,000 households - is led by an elected Management Board of residents and has a membership of individuals and affiliated groups. Leeds Tenants Federation was formed in 2004 and has quickly become recognised as one of the most progressive and dynamic residents organisations. It is represented strongly at city-wide, regional and national level.

Chair of Leeds Tenants Federation, Linda McNeil said: “We are building a united organisation to represent all the tenants and residents of Leeds. The stronger our voice, the more we can make sure that tenants and residents are in the driving seat.”
