Supporting Tenant Board Members

Council housing in Leeds is managed by six Arms Length Management Committees (ALMOs). Tenants' homes are still owned by the Council and the ALMOS are fully owned by the council.

Tenants form the largest group of directors on these ALMOs. Part of Leeds Tenants Federation's 's mission is to make sure that these tenant directors play a leading role in decision making.

In August 2003 the Federation met with 16 tenant board members in the first of its quarterly support meetings. Their mood was very upbeat and confident.Tenants in Leeds feel they are equal partners in the management of their homes.
